Enhancing Arrival and Connection at 11 Exhibition Street
Designed and delivered by Vemi, the upgraded ground floor lobby at 11 Exhibition Street, Melbourne enhances the building’s arrival experience while serving as a central meeting point for occupants. The space also functions as a point of arrival for Bupa’s event space located at the end of the lobby area, carefully balancing its role as a transient hub with areas for pause and interaction.
The project included the installation of sheer curtains, feature LED suspended lighting, removal of column lighting, a new booth seating area, relocation of existing furniture, and additional screens and signage. Each element was considered to enhance both functionality and aesthetic impact, creating a space that feels welcoming, dynamic, and adaptable.
The resulting space supports natural circulation while providing pockets for informal gathering and orientation, seamlessly connecting the event and workplace zones. By combining thoughtful design, upgraded amenities, and intuitive spatial planning, the ground floor now delivers a flexible, engaging, and visually striking environment that meets the evolving needs of building occupants and visitors alike.

Adjacent to the reception desk is seating area designed for gathering and connection. Comfortable chairs and tables encourage conversation, while large windows connect the space to the vibrant street outside, filling it with natural light and a sense of openness.
